TangoDaz
Morning Has anyone removed the centre console on a mk 6.5 fiesta to get it carbon dipped? I've removed the stereo but need to remove the heater vents and also the heater control as well and probably the plastic gear/ handbrake surround any tips or advice would be greatly accepted. Thanks in advance
zain611
There's a guy on eBay who breaks fiestas and I've seen him advertise centre consoles off a mk6.5 fiesta. Don't know if you could message him about how to remove it? I bought a fiesta rear beam from him as the STs have discs on the rear. The name is 'p_b_autos_1984' Also do look into the red or blue dashboards. I have the red dash and it looks good.
TomsFocus
Once the stereo is out it's 4 screws and the top just clips in, be careful not to bend the top though, vents are removed from behind once the fascia is out. Heater panel screws in but cables need removing carefully. The part around the gearstick just clips into the lower part.

zain611
Lol I kept thinking you wanted to remove the whole dash 😂. Will look nice though when you get it carbon dipped. If I was going to paint the centre console on my car I'd probably get it sprayed gloss black or panther black.
TomsFocus
Just don't paint it blue lol...not sure what the previous owner was trying to achieve with this. Needless to say I fitted a standard one with a standard double DIN within a week!

I think the previous owner went with my thought on getting that to match the paintwork 😂. Don't think I'll be touching the stereo. Might look into getting the Sony one as some fiestas came with it from factory but I've realised insurance in London is a rip off compared being outside so might stop with mods. TomsFocus
Yeah that's the ST150 I had...2 years ago now! 😮 Its now somewhere in London so you might have seen it about lol. If you want to do more than a few light mods you've got to go with one of the specialist insurers really. Modded insurance is expensive anywhere though which is why I had to stop with 'proper' mods myself. As you said that there is a blue ST just parked outside my road however it has red calipers not blue ones which you had. Yeah lol I called up sky insurance and they quoted me £1385 with declared halo lights, front and rear ST brakes, front LED sidelights and reversing camera. That's not too bad but really I just want it to reduce. I called Adrian flux and they sent me to another company then that company sent me to another for them to say it'll be best to call near your renewal so you can get a proper price as the price given now might change. Hey I also got the rear drums to ST discs conversion done on the car. Looks like new. I went with painting the calipers gloss black and it actually looks nice. Something you could do @TangoDaz for your sons car.
TangoDaz
Hi all yes painted calipers are also on his list. His car came with the Sony stereo as factory and should look good with the dipped trim. I'll post photos when completed
